Mimo, the new program for newsgroups

July 24th, 2010

mimoDid you hear about MIMO? No? Well, MIMO is a new product that allows you to browse Usenet network resources. MIMO is a product of the Golden Frog, which is associated with Giganews. Giganews is the most powerful player in the world, not counting the Google’s Usenet network. Golden Frog company has already developed and made available to Usenet users VyprVPN product, which I wrote about earlier. Now the company Golden Frog joins forces with Giganews and users with Diamond account allow to test new MIMO product. MIMO will be a significant milestone in Usenet. The product must be capable of:

• quick files downloading, search and browsing,
• file search for servers with long retention time,
• ability to view thumbnail images,
• filtering of text and binary files,
• automatic unpacking and repairing damaged files,
• integration with Giganews acceleration technology.

MIMO will be the modern tool. Giganews is interested in this product. Giganews already offers such a long retention time of binary data that search engines NZB files no longer covered the whole period. The new product will allow Giganews to distance competitors and create new value.

It should be noted that UseNeXT has a similar program to support Usenet for its clients and offers it for free. To what extent MIMO will be similar to what is already on the market?
In my opinion, certainly in the long retention servers search it should kill the competition. Then he will show his superiority and power.
MIMO is currently dedicated to the following operating systems: Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Mac OS X 10.6 and above.
